Nobody likes vulnerability. But Paul leads us right through the doorway of fellowship, into the safety of the brotherhood, so that we can become "light bearers" or Christ like (Phil.1 & 2). In the context of acceptance and encouragement from our brothers, we trust the Lord and humble our selves. Submitting our needs to our brothers in openheartedness. Both Ephesians 5 and James4:7, and 5:16 reveal the connection between vulnerability and healing; humility and becoming the beloved.

Is it painful? You bet!
But the journey through brokenness to healing, involves humility before our brothers. Vulnerability with those mentoring us, be they pastors or counselors.
We are at our healthiest, when we are journeying in a small community of openhearted, loving brothers and sisters.

Janell and I are thankful to have that now...

Relegating the Cross to Easter

It took a long time, but we have finally squeezed the cross into a box. Rather than the explosion that is sending a tidal wave of reality changing impact forward and backwards in time, we are binding up the cross effectively into the 4 days from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday. It now requires only a head nod of honor, via pastel dress shirts, and baskets with green plastic grass.  We all, walking with God daily, sense that it isn’t right.  Our buttoned up Easter celebrations, doesn’t jive with the soul shaking reality of the cross. Still, we will write blogs, and put snippets on Facebook, pointing out pieces of the gospel. They will say things like,"This Easter, reflect on the impact of these scriptures in your life.” Implying that all we need is a little tune up in relation to the cross.
